Amélie has auburn locks that reach just above her shoulders. Though her hair is naturally curly and she likes to keep a crimped look to it, she keeps her front bangs straight. Not cutting them often, Mélie's bangs are just above her eyes, and have a bit of a jagged look. Her dark hair gives her hazel eyes more of an amber color, but there is still the gist of the hazel visible. Just above her eyes, she has thin eyebrows that often appear hidden in her bangs. Her eyes are well centered on either side of her nose and within her oval shapped face. Though her cheeks are not at all pudgey, they do give Amélie face a round outline and a bit of a baby face look. Freckles are speckled accross the bridge of her nose and to her cheeks, a few even appearing on her arms. Her porcelinn skin has a nice creamy complextion, and her pink lips need no lipstick, the natural color is enough against her fleshy pale tone. as far as clothes go, Amélie's style varries from colorful tops to flat black tank-tops. She wears clothes that fit comfertably, though still look nice and match her personality. She does have one preference though, for shoes. Amélie prefers to wear convers all stars over any other kind of shoe, though she will wear others for the sake of fashion.
Though she wouldn't consider herself an art nerd, Amélie is quite artistic. Her art ranges from writing novels to acting them out. not only does she write and act, though, she is also quite the artist. Amélie prefers sketches and paintings over coloring, and cannot stand to draw on white paper. It has to be lined. Two or more notebooks under her arm, Mélie always has the necessary utensils for writing and drawing in any situation. Because of her studious ways, Mélie often draws in class, having already known what the teacher is teaching. She has before gotten in trouble because of this, and has also dumbfounded a teacher for explaining the concept they were working on when Mélie was obviously paying no attention.History:
Mélie has always preferred silence over noise, and as her childhood consisted of quite a bit of isolation, she prefers to be alone than with people. Amélie has had past experiences with populars and jocks causing her to have quite a distaste for them. She tends to judge people by their cliques, but if they prove their selves, Mélie is willing to befriend them. Mélie has quite the little shell around her, and she doesn't like to be around people. Instead, she studies, reads, does things that consists of learning and artsy activities instead of socializing. Because of this, Amélie is extremely smart, and always uses her wit against people. She loves proving people wrong, and does it daily. Making fools of blond populars is one of her favorite things to do.
Though all of this makes Amélie seem like quite a jerk, if you get on her good side Mélie is quite the sweetie-pie. She's loyal to all of her friends, and will often do just about anything for them. When writing her stories, it isn't uncommon Mélie to include some of her best of friends as characters. Amélie takes after her mother with writing and art, seeing as her mother is a successful novelist, and though Mélie often times seeks advice from her mother, her mother is often times quite too busy for Amélie. Because of this, Mélie has grown accustomed to doing things on her own. She is afraid to ask for help in class, and seldom if ever does.
Having been raised in France for three years, Mélie is quite fluent in french, and English as well. She often times has to translate for her parents, as they haven't the time to learn the language. Though they've lived in America for eleven years, her parents just don't care enough to learn the English. Mélie doesn't mind this much, but translating is a hassle sometimes. Not only can she speak french, but she has ventured to learn german, russian, and italian.
April thirteenth, Paris, France, Adéle Jacques sat in the hospital, scribbling away in a notebook. Her husband was holding her new born baby. Nineteen-year-old Adéle had always been too busy for her daughter Amélie. Instead of being with Amélie, she scribbled away in that notebook. Alexander Jacques nourished the child, poured love all over her, and was the best daddy Mélie could ask for. By the time Amélie was three years of age, Alexander was just about her best friend. They had a wonderful relationship, but Amélie was curious about her mother. Every time she asked about Adéle, Alexander would reply; "She's busy."Goals/Fears:
Amélie got used to this, and stopped asking after a while. She was fine without mommy to be there for her, but she couldn't handle having no daddy; which is just what happened, july twenty-seven, when she was four years old. Alexander was promoted. Not only did this mean the Jacques' were to move to America, it meant that Amélie wouldn't have time with daddy anymore. They moved to New York, New York, and Amélie learned to not bother her parents anymore. Her father was busy with work, and her mother was often times not even home, most of the time on book tours.
For years Mélie lived isolated, with only herself to play with. She became intrigued with her mother's work, and started to write herself. By the time she was to enter school, she had written plenty stories, and had already learned and understood the concepts she was to learn her first year at school. When she did enter school, she entered a year late. Her parents forgot to register Mélie, and she ended up being six as opposed to five in kindergarten. Years went by, and Mélie was always the top of her class. Age eight, Mélie was granted a little sister, Effrayé. Mélie tried her best to be a good big sister, but she didn't know how to react. Effrayé is often left alone, but Mélie does try her best. Though Mélie never skipped grades, she was at almost college level at thirteen. Throughout the years, the "populars" developed quite the dislike for Mélie. She always had a clever comeback for them whenever they tried to insult her. They don't really like it when people do that to them.
When it came time to enter high school, Mélie went to her dad about a boarding school. She told him that it would be less hassle, because she wouldn't be hanging around the house, she would be at school all year. Alexander agreed, and Mélie was sent to Parker High. The only thing wrong with her going to boarding school is Mélie is letting down Effrayé. Mélie dreads leaving Effrayé home durin the school year, but sacrifices must be made. Mélie's still in her first year at Parker High, and though she is still hated by populars, she doesn't mind it there.

pulling her hair behind her ear, kylie slipped into transfiguration. she bit her lip as she peered into the room, which seemed to have a majority of slytherins. not knowing that she was late, though sure that she was not early, Kylie scanned the room for someone she knew to sit with. Sitting with strangers was quite awkward; at least to kylie it was. sighing with relief, she spied a fellow fourth year, though she was a gryffindor, and kylie was quite sure they hadn't met, she was still relieved to have found someone her age.
"hello," kylie started when she neared the fourth year. "would you mind if I sat?" kylie gestured to the empty seat beside the lion. she wouldn't mind all that much if the lion turned her down, but it really would be a relief to sit with someone her age instead of someone sixteen. biting her lip again, she slid her hand under the strap of her messenger bag, not because she planned to take it off of her shoulder so she could sit, just because it was a habit.
her eyes scanning the room for alternatives if the lion turned her down, kylie saw fellow Hufflepuff, haydden wyverin. him being sixteen, he wouldn't be kylie's first choice of seating, but she was sure that it wouldn't be that awkward, seeing as they shared a house. (ooc- not a real house, the house hufflepuff.) she set her mind that haydden would be the next victim of her asking for a seat.
